Kasidie’s 1st Anniversary, a Letter from the Publishers

One year ago today, in the teeth of the biggest recession since the Great Depression, we launched Kasidie as a community for sexually social couples, singles and groups. Wow, what a time to start a new business!

 

And what a ride it’s been! Thanks to your help there are now thousands of people using Kasidie every day to make friends, join communities, attend parties and meet up with likeminded people. As we told everyone on the team from the very start, the goal of Kasidie is to get people socializing online and, most importantly, in the real world.

 

At times it seemed like things went so slowly. We had great design, but only a handful of applications at our initial launch. We had a fantastic core group of friends, but only a dozen or so new members joining every day. We worked in close association with clubs and founding members to identify key applications, then to get them designed, built and added to the site. Profiles were enhanced, photo albums expanded, flirts and friends added, email overhauled, party creation & posting utilities built, the affiliate program designed and integrated, and…most importantly…communities built and launched; coding everything from scratch so we control the code 100% in-house. And we’ve seen daily member growth jump tenfold as we’ve rolled out the new stuff.

 

This year we also…

• Won the Sybarite Award from HedoOnline as the Best New Site
• Appeared on the Tyra Banks show
• Published new writers, bloggers, photographers and cartoonists in the magazine
• Hosted our 1st annual takeover of Desire Resort, Cancun
• Opened 9 Girls Uncorked chapters in cities around the USA
• Joined the Board of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom
• Became an Xbiz finalist for the Best Adult Dating Site (award ceremony next Feb)
• Were nominated for the 2010 Windy Clitty Award in Chicago
• Saw over 1,200 parties and travel events posted on Kasidie
• Watched members create over 140 communities in the first 60 days since roll out

• More members, as we shift from building applications to massively building the community in every city
• More applications, as we build and launch Forums, Mobile, and other neat utilities
• More parties, over 3,000 parties and travel events will be posted next year
• More travel, Kasidie takeovers to Desire and Las Vegas, and club & travel agent cruises and trips all over the world
• More clubs, as we actively work with both established and up-and-coming promoters to help them start and grow their businesses
• More communities as people start hundreds of local groups for camping, photography, dining, sports, and all kinds of sexual preferences
• More friends and more fun!

Thanks for being part of making Kasidie.com what it is today, and what it’ll become in the future. It’s exciting to be here with you, at the start, as we set the stage for amazing things.

For now, well, get out there…attend a party, go on a trip, join or start a community, refer your friends and meet up with new friends! We’re all here for the same reason, to hang out with uninhibited people, live a life less ordinary and be sexually social.
